History of Incidents
Since the beginning of the full-scale conflict in Ukraine, a number of Russian military personnel have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.
This most recent event follows other high-profile incidents, such as:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was lost his life in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov perished in late 2024 when a explosive concealed on a scooter was triggered from afar.
While a source from Ukraine previously connected Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are rarely publicly admitted as a matter of standard practice.
The conflict has witnessed covert operations extending into the center of the Russian capital.
The investigation into General Sarvarov's death is still active.
