Former Doctor Faces Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician stands accused of performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
