Hulu is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Creators of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.
The latest Far Cry title that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it has a reputation for delighting in chaos and mayhem with equal enthusiasm, all while weaving gripping, socially charged narratives. Little surprise that FX's new order for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two creators whose creations have represented all of those qualities.
Show Details
Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game property, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' style by featuring a fresh setting and cast of characters in every instalment.
Creative Minds
Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series through their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
We’ve shared excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”
What’s Next
Mac will also appear in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what role that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.
“Having the opportunity alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX family always encourages me with their ongoing confidence and assistance.”
“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone show. Every instalment is a variation of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can evolve from season to season, while always exploring the core of people through this multifaceted and unpredictable viewpoint, is a long-held aspiration. I’m eager to work with Rob and present our shared bold, visionary approach to the audience.”
A schedule for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
