Salah Extends Apology to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that Salah apologised to the team in the wake of the fallout from his televised remarks.
The Fallout
He was omitted from a key Champions League match subsequent to criticising the club and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also implied that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I understand there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the period after the situation. Jones believes the Salah's words were never meant to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and on a positive run.”
