Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the international break, but will the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.
In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
West Ham's only away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously Forest manager.
So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.
A family member advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had great success on the road this term, and Brighton are always decent at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.
Fulham have got lots of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.
But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
